Volunteers visit pediatric patients at UTMB Children’s Hospital offering to read books, play games, construct arts and crafts and distribute toys.

Outreach Opportunity
Volunteers help Galveston County organizations or agencies plan, sponsor and staff short-term projects. The Jr. League also relies on the Outreach Opportunity committee to staff our short term projects RIF, Stuff the Bus and our Kid’s In the Kitchen “Out of the Box”.

Adopt a School
This project provides school supplies and Reading is Fundamental book distributions to elementary students from a selected school within Galveston County.

Kids In the Kitchen
Volunteers will implement a curriculum at different locations, throughout the county, addressing the following needs: Health and Nutrition, Fitness, and Easy Recipes/ Cooking Demo’s for Good Health. Our efforts, we hope will raise awareness and provide solutions for the growing health problems associated with childhood obesity.

Jr. Junior Leaguers
Our new pilot project encourages and teaches 5-8th grade girls the importance of volunteering by providing monthly opportunities to help in the community.

Community Assistance Fund & Scholarships
The Junior League provides up to $10,000 to the community annually & up to $10,000 in scholarships each year to female Galveston County students who demonstrate a commitment to voluntarism & community service.
