The Community Assistance Fund enables the Junior League to respond to the short-term, immediate funding needs of 501(c)(3), non-profit agencies within Galveston County that meet specific criteria and guidelines. Primary consideration is given to a request of an immediate, emergency nature, or to those that develop and expand a significant service to the community.

The amount awarded cannot exceed the sum of $1,000.00, to serve as a one-time donation for any single calendar year. In addition, no organization can receive a cash award for more than three (3) consecutive years.

Agencies receiving funding in the past include: Hospice Care Team, the Learning Place, St. Vincent’s House, Ronald McDonald House, Gleanings from the Harvest, Interfaith Caring Ministries, Galveston Arts Center, Texas City ISD Foundation, Bay Area Boy Scouts, GISD Educational Foundation, Salvation Army, Galveston Island Human Society and Catholic Charities.
