The Junior League of Galveston County is for women who want to network, meet a diverse group of women and make an impact in Galveston County!

Membership in The Junior League is open to women of all races, religions, and national origins who share in our commitment to voluntarism and to improving the community we serve.

Interested women are encouraged to obtain membership information by contacting our league office.

  • Training for effective community leadership, including advocacy, community research, fundraising, finance, leadership, public relations, and personal development
  • Working with other women to create positive community change

Join Us Requirement PageDuring the first year, New Members complete the following requirements:

  • Attend General Membership Meetings and New Member Meetings held on Monday evenings twice per month from September through May
  • Pay annual dues, and purchase at least 1 Holiday Charity Ball ticket and 1 ticket to the Annual Year-End Dinner
  • Assist with installing/removing holiday decorations at our headquarters, the Trueheart Adriance Building in Galveston, or serve as a docent during the Dickens on the Strand holiday event
  • Attend workshops supporting Holiday Charity Ball preparation
  • Work together as a class to donate a Holiday Ball Silent Auction item
  • Complete 2 of the following: Holiday Ball decoration set-up shift, take-down shift, or 2-hour Holiday Ball event shift
  • Volunteer at least 2 hours each with at least 4 of the community projects
  • Attend the New Member/Sustainer Tea
  • Help plan and participate in a New Member Community Service Project
  • Attend an interview to facilitate volunteer placement for the following year
