Scholarship Recipients 20101

The Community Assistance Fund enables the Junior League to respond to the short-term, immediate funding needs of 501(c)(3) non-profit agencies within Galveston County that meet specific criteria and guidelines. Primary consideration will be given to requests of an emergency nature, or to those that develop and/or expand a significant service to the community.

The amount awarded cannot exceed the sum of $1,000, and will serve as a one-time donation for any single calendar year.

Should your organization have a need for support through the CAF program, and your request meets the criteria as outlined in the below document, please respond by completing the below application and mailing it to:

Please be aware that all applications must be RECEIVED by October 31.

Agencies receiving funding in the past include: The Sunshine Center, Inc.; MI Lewis Social Service Center; Lutheran Music Academy; Galveston Island Oktoberfest; Galveston Arts Center; Texas City Day Nursery; Teen Health Care Center; Christus Our Daily Bread; Hospice Care Team; and The Family Service Center of Galveston County.

College Scholarships

CAF/Scholarship Committee to award college Scholarships

The Junior League of Galveston County, Inc. provides scholarships annually to female students graduating from Galveston County high schools or from a home school program. For 2017, the Scholarship Committee will award, at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee, ten to twenty $1,000-$2,000 scholarships to qualified applicants. Primary consideration will be given to those candidates who have exhibited a strong commitment to volunteer work in their communities.

The deadline for return of the completed application, along with three (3) letters of recommendations is March 15. Recipients will be notified by April 15. A reception will be held to honor the recipients. It will be held on the first floor of the TA Building.
