About Us 1

The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.

We are an organization comprised of more than 155,000 women in 293 Junior Leagues throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Great Britain. Our members reflect a wide range of backgrounds, interests and professional pursuits. Working together, we identify unmet needs, forge effective coalitions and work for change. It takes courage and commitment. Time and again, the Junior League is among the first organizations to step up to a community’s biggest challenges:

  • childhood nutrition and obesity
  • education and literacy initiatives
  • disaster recovery
  • teen self-esteem
  • historic preservation
  • community leadership development
  • and more

As one community leader put it, “Every time I work with the Junior League, I feel the Marines have landed.”
