Junior League of Galveston County, Inc. Announces Scholarship Opportunity for Galveston County Students

Galveston County, Texas – Do you know a female high school senior headed off to college this fall? The Junior League of Galveston County, Inc. (JLGC) will be awarding thirteen $1,000 scholarships to qualified applicants in Galveston County.  Scholarships are awarded to female high school seniors who have exhibited a strong commitment to volunteer work in their communities.

“Contributing to the educational future of these young ladies is one of the most rewarding projects we have,” says Community Vice President, Lynsey Ginsberg. “In the applicants we search for individuals who embody the Mission of the Junior League of Galveston County.  It is my personal hope that they will one day seek to participate in the Junior League in their community.”

JLGC wishes the best to potential recipients in their future endeavors and hopes that each will continue their involvement in the community.  The application and required organization criteria can be found by going to the Junior League of Galveston County’s website at www.jlgalveston.org. Applications can be downloaded and printed off or filled out electronically.

The deadline for return of the completed application, along with three letters of recommendation, is March 15 each year. Recipients will be notified April 30.
