Junior League of Galveston County, Inc. is Currently Accepting Applications for Adopt a School

Galveston County, Texas – For eighty-eight years, The Junior League of Galveston County, Inc. (JLGC) has focused its efforts on assisting the children of our community in their education and wellness. Each year, JLGC selects a new elementary school to adopt and we are currently accepting applications for the 2014-2015 school year.

Through Adopt a School, JLGC members contribute hundreds of hours purchasing, organizing and distributing school supplies for the entire student body at an elementary school in Galveston County. A new school is selected each year based on the percentage of students in need. The committee also provides Reading is Fundamental (RIF) book distributions to the students throughout the school year.

JLGC is currently looking for a school that has a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students (>75%) that can offer us an opportunity to further assist in the education of children with an emphasis on literacy and healthy habits.
