Junior League of Galveston, Inc. Shines This Holiday Season
Galveston County, Texas – Over the course of three days, the Junior League of Galveston County, Inc. was represented by Patient Perks, one of its seven community-focused committees, at the Ronald McDonald House where they decorated for the seventh annual Lights of Love event.
“It was just amazing to see everyone working together and so happy to decorate the house for the families that currently call it home,” said Lisa Higgins, Patient Perks Chair. “We had nearly 30 volunteers who helped decorate the front porch and entrance to the house, the outside balconies, second floor porch, lobby area, two television rooms, two playrooms and dinning rooms.”
In October, Patient Perks also worked with Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Galveston to host a Halloween carnival for patients and their families. The carnival included games, a cupcake walk, arts and crafts and a spooky lab.
“It was an amazing experience that I hope catches on and will become an annual event for Shriner’s and Patient Perks for years to come,” said Higgins.
