Junior League of Galveston County, Inc. Hosts Successful Holiday Charity Ball Thanks to Generous Sponsors
Galveston County, Texas – On Saturday, December 13, 2014, over 460 guests enjoyed a Rendezvous at the Moulin Rouge hosted by The Junior League of Galveston County, Inc. (JLGC) The Grand Ball Room of the Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis became a Parisian holiday as guests danced to live music provided by Level One and feasted on delicious French cuisine provided by the convention center.
The JLGC Holiday Charity Ball is the Junior League’s largest and flagship fundraiser. Thanks to the generous support of its sponsors and donors, this year’s event raised more than $134,000.
“This fantastic evening raised a record-breaking amount of money to help fund the Junior League’s new focus area beginning in fall 2015: increasing opportunities for children to succeed in school,” said Angie Brown, President. “We have realigned the Junior League’s projects to make a more meaningful impact with every dollar and every volunteer hour spent while continuing to develop the potential of women as community leaders. We greatly appreciate the many sponsors and donors who support our mission.”
The winner of this year’s Second Annual Floral Design Competition is NASA Flowers in first place with their beautiful red, purple and black centerpiece and Lary’s Florist with their towering red centerpiece. Thank you to all who donated and supported our event.
